Engraving method that can be used for engraving of wood materials
Different materials require different types of engraving machines for processing, and they should never be treated equally. If the use is light, the engraving accuracy cannot be achieved, and the engraving machine is damaged. The following mainly explains the engraving machine type and method that can be used for engraving wood materials.
First of all, pay attention to the engraving methods that wood materials cannot be used: diamond engraving and digital hot air printing.
Then, the methods that can be used are: mechanical engraving, laser engraving (laser image engraving), sandblasting cleaning (sanding), stamping, screen printing, dunnage printing), hot stamping.
Mechanical carving
Laser engraving is one of the main means of engraving wood materials, but mechanical engraving can also produce extraordinary effects. This engraving method is suitable for processed wood materials as well as semi-finished wood materials. This engraving method is not complicated to operate. The following are several engraving techniques.
1) The wood material is slightly rough. To reduce the loss of the knife, a carbonized knife can be used.
2) When carving most wood materials, you can use a knife that engraves plastic products.
3) If you make a light, flat-bottomed text that looks like the letter of the original engraving, you can use a 60-degree hemisphere or a 1/4-spherical knife. It is also possible to use a sharp multi-slot sharpening knife that is faster, more efficient and cleaner.
4) If you want to fill the engraved letters, the depth of the engraving is kept at .010-.015, which makes it easier to fill and clean.
5) In order to achieve a smooth engraving effect, the first engraving needs to adjust the cutting depth to a few thousandths of the depth, and the second time, then adjust to the required depth. This two-time engraving method avoids the problem of sawdust encountered during the cutting process, especially in the cutting of softwood materials.
6) If you are carving the finished wood material, be sure to check the nose of the depth adjuster in advance to see if it will hit the board when it falls. If you run into it, even the smallest gap will affect the final result.
7) There is also a basic principle that a slow feed rate and a fast spindle frequency should be used for engraving. Wood is a permeable material that is porous and pays particular attention to this.
8) 3D engraving applications have excellent results on wood. It can also be used if the engraving machine is equipped with a three-dimensional engraving system. The knives can be selected with high-quality 90-degree engraved knives.
Laser engraving
Laser engraving is the main means of wood carving. The intensity of the beam can cause the engraved letters to be darker in color. The wood used for laser engraving is: walnut, cherry, oak, maple, birch, and poplar. Different woods have different engraving effects. Some woods, such as walnut, are easy to cut and smooth, while some woods are hard to find and not easy to color.
Laser engraving is used for engraving of light-colored wood, so that the engraving area is more intense than the un-engraved color.
Here are some of the requirements for wood in laser engraving:
1) In general, the greater the depth of engraving, the darker the color.
2) With low frequencies, such as 250dpi or 300dpi, it is possible to create better results. This strength can be engraved with good results, especially for soft wood.
